Community at Southpine extends beyond our Saturday gatherings. We believe that people grow best when they are connected through relationships with others, so each week we have Lifegroups that meet during the week around the northside of Brisbane.
Lifegroups are simply gatherings of ordinary people who are committed to living life to the full and serving God. Led by one or two individuals, Lifegroups are made up of 8-12 people who meet weekly in someone’s home.
Lifegroup usually starts with us sitting around with a cuppa and maybe a snack while sharing the ups and downs of our week. We then dig into the Bible, have open discussions where questions are welcome and where we don’t give cliché answers. If we don’t know the answer we will say “We don’t know, can we get back to you during the week?”
We have Lifegroups for families, youth, new believers, and more!
We make a big deal about being in a Lifegroup because we believe that’s where your life is going to change the most. That’s where you are going to grow. When you can get together regularly with the same group of people where you are known, loved, celebrated, and served, that’s when you are really experiencing church the way God intended it.
Everyone can do something to serve our neighbourhood, our city, and our world! We don’t emphasise and value serving because Southpine needs positions to be filled, it’s way bigger than that. Serving is about living fulfilled lives by using our unique personalities, strengths, and gifts to care for and encourage others.
We serve in many different ways, but there's one common thread: people who are passionate about demonstrating God's love to others. As a church we support and engage in several causes to serve our global community.
